Water Work

As you all know in Term 1 we have been learning about 'WATER'.  The children have thoroughly enjoyed this.  Our learning started with a trip to Pirongia.  All the children took part in many activities but mainly we were looking at the clear stream there and from that next term we will be able to compare that to our local stream.  They have written a recount about their trip to Pirongia.  A big part of our learning has been around the water cycle.  I'm sure you are all sick of the water cycle song by now ;-) Each child has written an explanation about how the water cycle works.  Also with all that rain we had the class wrote a poem about the stormy weather. As part of their homework one week they all researched some interesting facts about water - from that they made a raindrop and wrote their information on it, I have taken a photo of the display.  We also had a lot of fun doing some water experiments - ask your child about what we found.  I hope you enjoy reading their work.  The topic of Water will continue next term.
